Ride volunteers needed for 2012 rides!

Hi, everyone. This is Joe & Dana, your 2012 RBC Ride Chairs. In the Christmas spirit, we are still looking for ride leaders for next year’s rides. Many of you have already signed up for rides from the Volunteer Dinner and Pizza Party–thank you! But we still need more volunteers.

Here are how things stand right now for the 2012 calendar. This listing includes “standard” road rides only–no S&E, SWEEP, Social, or ‘Bent rides (all of whom do their own recruiting):

       Leader?
wkDay   N   Y Sum
  Mon  14   8  22
  Tue  12   3  15
  Wed   8  12  20
  Thu   5  13  18
  Fri   1   0   1
  Sat  33  34  67
  Sun  33  30  63
  Sum 106 100 206

So, we still have 106 rides without leaders.

  • If you have never led a ride, please consider signing up to lead one or two of them. Or more! This volunteer club would not exist except for those who volunteer. As you know from being on an RBC ride, it’s easy to lead an RCB ride. (We will have a meeting in April for new ride leaders.) You will also earn the right to attend the delicious Volunteer Dinner next fall for a free and delicious dinner. Yum!
  • If you have already volunteered to lead some rides, please check out the remaining rides to see if you are interested in those as well. (Want to look at the full set of rides on the latest draft? Check ‘em out at 2012 Calendar (draft)).

Volunteering for a ride is simple (but if you find this problematic, just send an email to rbcrides@gmail.com):

1. Go to the following Google spreadsheet, which lists the rides without leaders.
2012 Rides with no leaders as of 12-26-2011 . (If you have never used a Google spreadsheet, it’s easy. It looks like an Excel spreadsheet.)

2. Check out the rides that you would like to lead, and enter your name (full name please, so we know who you are!) in the blue “LEADER” column.

3. Close the link (Google saves the file almost on a continuous basis–you’ll see the “All changes saved” under the file name.)

Also, there is still a small window of time left to modify the calendar. So feel free to send us an email with any ride ideas you have (but only if you are willing to lead the ride, please).

Thanks for helping us create a great 2012 ride calendar!
